Following a period of transition, the Preston Lions Football Club is on the cusp of an exciting future as it sets itself up to compete at the highest levels of football in Victoria.

My first 12 months as President have been extremely rewarding as we see our collective hard work continuing to deliver some real positives for the Club. For that I would like to acknowledge and thank our generous sponsors and partners, members, supporters, volunteers, players and parents who have worked with our dedicated Executive Committee to restore some pride back in the club and position it for a strong
future ahead.

Some of the club’s key achievements during this period include:

  • Continuing to operate a financially sustainable Club through the support of our sponsors and partners, members and a number of successful fundraising initiatives;
  • Increasing our juniors player numbers (boys and girls) to over 260 players in 2015;
  • Launching our new “Lion Cubs” program for 4-6 year old children;
  • Celebrating the commissioning of new lighting infrastructure for our juniors through partnerships with Local Council and State Government; and
  • Continuing our strong relationships with key stakeholders and our local community (e.g. our involvement with Blind Sports Victoria and Social Goal to run football programs for blind and vision impaired children and adults. In addition, the Club was involved in the “Deadly Kick Koori Soccer Program”, a pilot program for Koori children that we ran jointly working in partnership with Darebin Council, Banyule Council and Heidelberg United FC).

Whilst we should be proud of the position the Club is in, our focus needs to firmly be on the future. During 2016, the Club will ‘refresh’ its 5-year plan with the aim of bringing our proud club back to playing at the highest levels of competition in Victoria – the National Premier League (NPL). To this end we are looking to appoint a Technical Director to enhance our coaching and playing structures to give ourselves the best
opportunity of success to secure an NPL licence in 2017. In addition, we will push to play in the round of 32 of the FFA Cup which can provide national television exposure for our wonderful sponsors and partners.

In the off-season, the Executive Committee has worked hard to lay the necessary foundations for 2016 and beyond. To that end, it is my pleasure to present our Sponsorship Options for the 2016 football season, which provide a variety of opportunities for you to partner with us to restore PLFC as one of the premier football clubs in Victoria.

Business, like sport, is all about relationships and we are committed to developing enduring and mutually beneficial associations with our sponsorship partners to ensure they get the most value from their investment.

This proposal outlines the many benefits we can offer with a range of packages available depending on each sponsor’s level of financial commitment and objectives. We can also tailor each of the packages to suit the needs and budgets of individual sponsors.

We invite you to join us on this exciting journey as a valued club partner and look forward to working with you as part of the Preston Lions family in 2016.

Zak Gruevski
President
