As season 2016 draws to a close, the final match of the season is against Western Suburbs this Saturday 10 September 2016, with the main game kicking off at 3pm (Reserves 1pm), however this is not a regular pre-match post.
In this post, the Executive Committee of the Preston Lions Football Club, together with the coaching staff and the Men’s senior playing group would like to say thank you to a special player that has graced the hallowed turf at B.T. Connor Reserve for longer than anyone can remember and that’s Tony Sterjovski (a.k.a. British).
British’s illustrious senior playing career with PLFC is coming to an end this Saturday, and in a gesture befitting our club captain we will be sending him off this Saturday with a couple of special events. We urge our loyal fans to attend this memorable occasion, as your captain puts on the boots in the senior’s line up for the last time.
The Club is keen to continue our relationship with British and is working with him regarding an appropriate role around the club, an announcement of which will be made in the off season. In the meantime keep your eyes glued to our FB page over the coming days as we continue to go down memory lane with British and celebrate the wonderful contribution he has made to our proud Club.
