The Executive Committee of PLFC would like to congratulate and welcome Scott Dixon to the #LionsDen as a senior player / Technical Director (focused on our MiniRoos and Juniors program).
As a player Scott boasts an impressive record playing with Banyule FC in the #SL1NW in Victoria, and stints with Weymouth FC, Dorchester Town FC, and Grays Athletic in the UK as well as Billings Yellowjackets in the US. He’s coaching credentials are just as impressive with stints as Banyule City’s TD, first team coach at Chelmsford City and head coach at Essex FA just to name a few.
PLFC Media caught up with Scott during the juniors trials and asked him to tell us about his philosophy and his plans for 2017 as TD:
“In 2017 I will ensure that every player at PLFC in the Mini Roos and Junior set ups is continuously learning and developing through quality coaching. I will be a support mechanism for all our coaches as they are our product. I will also be looking to improve and work on the clubs community engagement reaching out to local schools and setting up Lions’ Clubs during the school terms and in the school holidays – generating increased support for our club.”
As a start Scott will be running a Holiday Soccer Clinic during January 2017 and boys and girls of all abilities between 5 and 11 years of age are invited – refer to the attached flyer for details.
Scott wrapped up his thoughts for the upcoming 2017 season:
“Finally, I will ensure that everything within the junior set up is ready for the transition to the #FFVNPL”.
